Our team has now moved into the production of Kiriko. Although it seems that the theme of the project has shifted, the physical appearance of the installation has not changed drastically and is ready to be constructed.

 

Mockup

Michael has created a to-scale block out of our installation. We will work off of this for measurements.

 

Installation

Today, Eli began building the operator’s plinth in the wood shop using the technical drawings she created. We have also started doing swatch tests on wood pieces using India Ink to create a matte black finish. 

 

Terminal

Over the last few weeks, Valerie has been brainstorming various terminal designs to be shown on the operator’s plinth. After providing many options, Charles has implemented the chosen design into Unity and will continue to update it. 

 

Sound

Ali has been working on the sound for Kiriko. He has been using a dummy scene in Unity to send UI values from a controller. At this point, the values max out slowly in accordance to the UI, and audio delays are functional.
